The landmark of Sofia, the spectacular Alexander Nevski Cathedral.
Built between 1882 and 1912 in neo-Byzantine style. The cathedral
is 76 metres long and 53 metres wide and can hold up to 7000 people.
The golden domes are covered in gold leaf, donated by Russia in
1960, and have just been regilded (you will notice the ongoing
works on the picture). Leica Digilux Zoom.
